The Nissan LEAF was the first mass-distributed pure electric car here in the United States. It was first introduced for the 2010 model year. For the 2017 model year, the LEAF is still a desirable, affordable way to drive cleaner and skip the pump. Come make the electric switch today at Santa Cruz Nissan.
The 2017 NissanLEAF is available in three trim levels: S, SV, and SL.
All LEAF models are powered by an 80-kW AC synchronous motor that produces 107 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. This motor gets its energy from a 30 kWh battery. When fully charged, the LEAF has a driving range of 107 miles. Buyers will love its no-shift instant torque driving feel. In addition, it has good balance and most drivers will like the way it handles.
The Nissan LEAF has a versatile hatchback design with eye-catching styling that makes it distinctly an electric car. The charging port is located on the front end where you would normally open the hood. Steel wheels are standard on the S trim. The SV and SL trims get alloy wheels.
Optional on the S, but standard on the SV and SL is a Charge package that includes a 6.6-kW charger for faster Level 2 charging and an additional port for ultra-fast Level 3 DC charging.
Inside, passengers will find a spacious interior. Both front and backseat passengers will have plenty of room to stretch their legs. And, with wide door openings, getting in and out is fairly easy. Standard interior features include heated front seats, a 5-inch central display, a USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 2017 Nissan LEAF does not use gasoline. However, it delivers an EPA-estimated 124 MPGe city/101 MPGe highway/112 MPGe combined*.
